The Electric "Now Indigo Blue": Synthetic Color and Video Synthesis

Kane's article looks back on the aims and aspirations of electronic video synthesis, popularized in the late 1960s and early 1970s by many of the forerunners of video art, including, Nam June Paik and electronics engineer Eric Siegel. The images produced by Siegel's color synthesizers were hoped to bring about healing, heightened consciosnes and transcendental awareness.
