Künü/un Espacio para el biólogo

TAPECODE 1038.11

Künü is a documentary that captures the collaborative efforts of eighty Mapuche communities to reclaim part of their ancestral lands from a large transnational forestry company in Chile, in the Araucanía-Loncoche region.

How can we find balance when we are on opposing sides? Can we build spaces of listening and equality?

Künü, which means "ceremonial space", documents the creation of a space for difficult dialogue between groups with a long history of mistrust and power imbalances, but which at the same time centers the prospect of exercising ancestral and political self-determination for local Mapuche communities.

Produced in collaboration with Imaginaria Audiovisual, a film production group based in Concepción, Chile.
