Themes of women, gender diversity, sex work, sex workers, street prostitution.
The film was shot at the height of the Davie Street red-light stroll in Vancouver, known at the time as the prostitution capitol of Canada.
Hookers on Davie is the only documentation of Davie Street before a court injunction eliminated sex workers from the area. The film brings fresh insight to the community of men, women, transvestites and transgendered sex workers, and offers viewers a rare, empathetic understanding of their world and lives.
