Tim Miller: Loud & Queer

Richard L. Harrison

1992, 29:00 minutes, colour, English

TAPECODE 010.02

Widely acclaimed performance artist Tim Miller conducts a workshop for gay men, performs excerpts from My Queer Body (a new solo work) and discusses the importance of autobiographical storytelling to gay men and other marginalized communities.

Interviews, performance footage and images spanning his 15 year career are interwoven as Miller confronts fear and loss, violence against lesbians and gay men, censorship, internalized homophobia and the politics of the AIDS crisis in America.

Celebrating ego and body, gay love, activism and the healing potential of art, Miller puts into context the more controversial elements of his life-affirming, community-building network.
