Centaurs are characters from Greek mythology that are best known for their alcoholism, their debauchery and their belligerence. Chiron, a centaur with great musical knowledge, must have inspired the Spanish videographer Codesal in giving his own view on creatures that are half man/half horse. Three of these (two of them dressed in traditional toreador's garb) sing lustily and in a dramatic tone of voice about their hybridity. The backdrop is Spanish, like the instrumental accompaniment. The choir from the classic Greek drama seems to be reinstalled in the form of a group of female vocalists. They comment on the vocal caprices of the horse-people.

Centauro présente une figure de la mythologie grecque entourée de musiciens et d'un choeur de femmes espagnoles. Dans un décor espagnol traditionnel, l'allégorie évoque notre nature bestiale délaissée au profit de la culture. Le centaure, tout comme le toréador et le public qui l'applaudit, se nourrit de chair crue. À notre tour, nous consommons des images télévisuelles "crues." L'hybridité retrouvée dans cette oeuvre interpelle notre inconscient...
