TAPECODE 9108

On June 27, 1988, a squad of helmeted riot police and an anti-terrorist SWAT team swooped down on a downtown Montreal neighbourhood to evict and arrest a group of low-income tenants. Protestors and tenants were brutalized and arrested in an effort to help real estate developers to evict and demolish a neighbourhood.
This documentary, produced and directed by one of the Overdale tenants, takes you behind the scenes to meet six of those fighting to stay in their homes.
