An individual experience of pregnancy is re-interpreted with nostalgia, waiting, pretend sex, pretend attempted murder, a pretend baby and a baby in utero. The bespecled video maker is presented as de-sexed since men don't make passes at artists in glasses - especially not on the screen. Traditional male desire is denied and the tape opens up the possibility of speaking the other side of the sensual story. The artist's eyes move the story on, react to fix meaning, lose their specs and their objectivity, retrieve both and lay claim to that voluminous, voluptuous belly.
