Glory

1983, 23:00 minutes, colour

TAPECODE 2007.22

The material for this tape originated in a performance I gave at the Serpentine Gallery in May 1983 (also titled Glory). During that event I acted as both animator and controller of 100 surrogate performers wo were locked in a kind of Blitzkrieg on a large table in a small room. The cut-out clichéed imnages were drawn from past and apresetn historical moments, famous politicians, heroes, heroines, film stars and a multitude of images associated with war and the representation of conflict.
