Fear Of Lying

Fear of Lying is a compelling comic theatrical monologue which was recorded live at The Western Front. The work relies on the strength of the feminist text & on the delivery of this text. The simple staging consists of a performer who is a silent contrast to the performer who can't stop talking. A pixel board display, providing a second text, compliments the spoken text. "F.O.L." is a rambling, walking tongue, a spill, a juncture and a clash between you & I. It arrives out of a necessity to speak. "She" in fear becomes a stand in for the separation you feel from your body, your place, yourself a receptacle, for the occasional embarrassment you have felt; and the loss you have experienced. "She" makes you laugh.
