Viennese Oedipus ( In Archive box 2)

1992, 08:14 minutes, B&W, English

TAPECODE 9999.050

Viennese Oedipus is a lyrical, visual poem which examines the human condition through the basic instinctual drives: erotic and aggressive impulses. Viennese Oedipus explores this theme on both the public and private realm. Thus images of men and women in intimate situations are interwoven with those of the public realm of the masses.
As a poem the film relies on spontaneous associations between the eclectic visuals and contrapuntal soundtrack. In this manner the piece deals with a spectrum of themes: choas within order, hate within love, denial within desire.
