Coiffure Carnival parodies our collective desire to achieve ideal beauty through political, sociological and historic rituals in popular culture. The scenario includes an exaggerated Tug-O'-War between two factions - Hairdo Personalities and Hairdo Conformists. These elaborately wigged and costumed body builders span history representing individuality through hairstyle - versus the preservation of the status quo in coiffure. Vignettes which allude to images of legendary hairdo personalities are cut into this Olympic confrontation. Featured personalities include Godiva, Louis XIV and Medusa, as well as a performance by The Impersonators of Elvis Impersonators.
