My Heart Is Breaking All Over Paris is a four-channel video installation. This work is based on the ancient greek myth of the goddess Demeter and her daughter Persefoni who has been abducted by Hades every end of the fall and comes back to life at the beginning of every spring. This is the myth of natural rejuvenation of life and death cycle as it occurs with the changes of the seasons. The aspect of major importance in this myth is the grief of the goddess of the earth Demeter having lost her beloved daughter, who has been abducted by the god of the underworld. In this installation I am using the soundtrack which is composed by my poetry to present the grief of the goddess. I have chosen Paris for the place of abduction for its significance as a city where art has been cultivated extensively." -A.C.
