Phases uses the moon as both a reference to ancient myths and as a structural device to illustrate four elements of contemporary western mythology; time, commodities, communication and consumer culture. The images are highly stylized, the editing is rapid, and the music is pop - thus attempting to call attention to modern myths in a similar formula to that which the tape attempts to critique.
