You = Architectural

"This is a story about structure, of structures within the structure. The filmtape is divided into three stories. I used the fiction of my life to build an examination of sexuality, power and place. Referencing 'personal architecture', this filmtape argues for another approach to discussing the act of building, through the intersection of(cinematic) experience. You = Architectural has evolved out of and questions the genre of subjective experimental documentary. The 'truth' of the personal voice is manipulated through gender switching and the shift from documentary to fiction. When a lack of power has created a dismal ending, the imagination can restore one's credibility.
Y- Moving out, leaving an inappropriate lover, wondering why it
didn't happen sooner.
O- Returning to the place where the circle began, when that slit
(I) turned into a hole (O): vengeance on a rapist.
U- Precariously balancing on the edge of the structure, falling to
the death (of her Identity) when she experiences uninhibited
pleasure. Laughing but still looking up into his eyes.
= Architecturally together, these fables of burgeoning empowerment recount the structured 'accidents' of gender." - K.T.
