In 1993 Big Cove, a Mic Mac reserve in New Brunswick, Canada, was in mourning; seven young people had taken their lives. This video celebrates the healing power of creativity as Big Cove prepared, that summer for its first annual River of Fire Festival. Youth working together with skilled resource people designed, created and performed personally and culturally relevant images. In this video voices of elders telling traditional legends merge with the voices of two young people (the narrators) linking the generations through stories and creative process.
