Palomas

1989, 30:00 minutes, colour, French/English/Spanish

TAPECODE 9283

Two years after the Mexican earthquake, in a section of Mexico City called Tepito, families of up to twenty members are living in a single dwelling. The women are powerful, funny and intent on finding resources to build decent housing. Palomas is a video portrait drawing you into their lives. Imbued with respect for these women and their struggle, it avoids the pitfalls of pity and sentiment.
