The Water's Tale
1996, 46:30 minutes, English
A woman floats in a bathtub and dreams of a long forgotten past. From beneath the sea a sleeping Faiery Child wakens and returns to the world. Once the Woman and the Faiery Child were one. Now the Faiery Child tells a magical story to draw the Woman back to her. It is their story - a story of a child driven by an insatiable desire to find the lost magic of her Grandmother's people, the faieries. Haunted by her Grandmother's silence, the Child sets off on a myth-like odyssey, travelling beyond the edge of the world, encountering underwater mythical beings and the dangers of magic.
Somewhere in between mythology and history, autobiography and fairy tale, child fantasy and adult desire, there exists a rich lyrical tale where imagination, dreams and reality meet. The Water's Tale is a story as elusive as it is compelling - a mesmerizing journey, a sensual awakening.
