West Of Shino is an art documentary of Alberta clay artist, John Chalke, and the year spent on the design and construction of a wood-burning kiln on his land in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Infused with the characteristic humour of John Chalke, the video touches on the relationship between artist, his work, and the land. A firing of the kiln brings these threads together in a dance of flame and ash.
