Winston is one of the most exciting native writer-performers on the entertainment circuit. Songs like
I Am An Indian, See The Arrow, Grandfather, North American Warrior, Come Back Maria, Handsome Warrior, Wa Hia Hia Hia Ho. Each one of these ballads is a story unto itself. For instance, Grandfather is about his grandfathers story that dates back to 1885. On November 27, 1885 eight native men were hung at Fort Battleford. The native men were Kah-Paypamhchukwao (Wandering Spirit), Pahpah-Me-Kee (Sick Round The Sky), Manchoose (Bad Arrow), Kit-Ahwah-Ke-Ni (Miserable Man), Nahpase (Iron Body), A-Pis-Chas-Koos (Little Bear), Itka (Crooked Leg), Waywahnitch (Man Without Blood). The unfair mass hanging was known as the Frog Lake Uprising.
