The Observer Trying To Remain An Objective Participant
1985, 04:45 minutes, colour
TAPECODE 9360
The images, the attitudes and the drama of war and peace are explored (and contrasted) via clips of off-air broadcast footage and documentation of a local peace rally. The artist exaggerates this scenario through a further examination and manipulation of this material - at times literally changing the angle in order to re-think the images and information that may be pertinent to the original issue. We are encouraged, amidst a general cynicism or apathy, and in spite of the drama, to make an effort to remain objective and involved.
