What happens, when the moving pictures and the multimedia events return to their starting point and the characteristics of reproduction become apparent? Michael Brynntrup's series of 56 media generations is not a return to a nostalgic idealized natural state or a search for transcendental inwardness. By playing with the monumental within aesthetic possibilities, Brynntrup researches into a spiritualism inherent in the media. It is however, less the emanation of technological media when regarding the calculability and precision, but more the potential of coincidence and the chaotic characters that connect themselves in the series of pictures with Brynntrup as such a person.
