A few months prior to creating this tape, I discovered a stash of books on UFOs and paranormal phenomena on a shelf in the basement of my parent's home. Most of them seemed to be preoccupied with events that had occurred in the so-called "Bermuda Triangle" off the coast of the southern United States. Out of scientific curiosity, I decided to recreate each of the catalogued events for the camera, as well as including the famous "Philadelphia experiment", where a U.S. Navy ship was made to disappear with electromagnetic energy, an event often thought to explain some of the phenomena documented in the Triangle.
With the aid of a black and white surveillance camera, a flashlight, and some dry ice, I was able to successfully recreate all of these dramatic incidents in a friend's bathtub, using stunt doubles and miniaturization techniques. All of the events shown in this tape are presented as they occurred, with only a minimum of "in-camera" edits to cover changes in camera position.
I should add that the title graphic of the skull and crossbones is a faithful reproduction of a Turkish bumper sticker warning of the dangers that await those who would venture into these waters.
