Eyes Full Of Storm

Christoph Oertli

1998, colour/B&W

This videotape is about the state in human life which is still free of any kind of narcissism. It documents the expressions of children who look straight into the camera without posing. Curiously and seriously they face us, the spectators. By watching those children we are asked to meet and respect them.
Close-ups of children's faces: images made in Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Papua New-Guinea, Polynesia, Peru, Ecuador, Panama, Caribbean Islands.

Installation: Projection on a suspended plexi glass.
