Breastfeeding: Who Loses, Who Wins?

1989, 22:00 minutes, colour, Portugese/English

TAPECODE 9484

An overview of the politics of exploitation and breastfeeding in Brazil. With 60% of the population undernourished, profit-oriented multi-nationals such as Nestlé continue to endanger the health of children through the sale of powdered milk. Convinced by persuasive advertising schemes, mothers use it instead of natural breast milk. Due to poverty and poor instruction, the milk is often overdiluted and mixed with undrinkable water thus creating unnecessary health problems.
