Recent Ice Age, The (La dernière période glaciaire)

1990, 28:00 minutes, English & French

The Recent Ice Age traces the fascinating story of glaciation in Atlantic Canada. Modern glaciers on Baffin Island are used as a field laboratory where geologists are shown working out the Ice Age timetable of the last 20 000 years from sand and gravel deposited by these giant ice sheets. The program shows how the Ice Age is still affecting our coastlines today, through the continuing adjustment of sea-level and the dramatic erosion of coastal farm land and beaches.
