Those who earn a low income, live alone or work odd hours often find it difficult to eat well-balanced meals. Using Canada's Food Guide, the viewer is taught how to prepare a shopping list, how to plan menus based on the major food groups and how to spot supermarket ripoffs.

Bien manger...Sans se ruiner traite principalement de la difficulté de bien se nourrir pour les personnes à faible revenu, vivant seules, ou ayant des horaires de travail irréguliers. A l'aide du Guide alimentaire canadien, on y apprend d'abord à planifier saliste de provisions, à concevoir ses menus en fonction des groupes d'aliments et aussi à repérer les attrapes au supermarché.
