Last Loft (Bleecker St. & The Bowery)

While nostalgia is without a doubt central to this piece, it is also about the joy of preserving the uncertainty and insecurity that is dwelling. Architecture is not built to last, and this has never been as clear as a glance at the current landscape of the Lower East Side in downtown Manhattan. What 10 years prior was a wasteland of empty lots and crack dens, is today “home” to multi-national capital. While this video directly takes on this reality, at the same time, it salvages the history and community life of the area.
