Eric's Video

1991, 26:00 minutes, English

In the film Too Close For Comfort, a character named Eric sets out with his friends to make this video on discrimination and homophobia. Eric introduces us to several people who have faced irrational bigotry because of their sexual orientation or because of their HIV positive status. We meet a hemopheliac who received an HIV infected blood transfusion, a young woman who was infected through sex and was fired from her job when her employer discovered her HIV status, and a young man who was infected by a shared heroin needle. We also meet people without HIV infections who have faced discrimination because of their homosexuality. In a very straightforward manner, the video forces us to wonder why any of these likable people would be the object of anyone's distrust or anger.
