How To Read Macho Mouse

1991, 08:15 minutes

TAPECODE 9752

A humourous and fast paced cross-lingual tape that utilizes source material from American and Mexican popular media, including animation and documentaries, as well as footage shot in the L.A. / Tijuana border region to confront issues of identity vis-a-vis First and Third World media, the "free-trade" economy, labour and immigration, and hybrid cultural forms. Speedy Gonzales and Mickey Mouse are juxtaposed to explore the idiosyncratic nature of Mexican and American social, political and cultural interaction.
