Virtuel

1993, 10:00 minutes, B&W

In a succession of static, minimalist, mute shots of gastronomic subjects, this video takes an ironic look at concepts of virtual reality. Anagrammes, quotations and food participate in sometimes deconstructing, sometimes naively illustrating notions of potentiality, possibility and transformation. In a light-hearted reflection on the human race and its conceptual pretensions, the video intends the subversion of a fashionable theory. Abstract the mouth and its myriad noises, we could have key-words, strong notions and raw food. In short, reality without virtue.
