Three Weeks in Quarantine is a suite of four videos made from short clips, sequentially linked together through audio and text. While the videos seem very static, several near still images placed together, they are the result of the tracing of a bodily habit through space during the first lockdown from March-June 2020.

In this particular video,
Three Weeks in Quarantine (Coffee Cup Scene) a coffee mug handle creates a word, and a conversation is carried on via text (seen in visual overlay) while my roommate practices bass riffs. Later, a crack in the foyer wall of the apartment in which the video is shot, cooperates with my hands and a measuring tape, to create a scale of the Danube River and the approximate distance between Vienna, speculating my friend’s location, and Donauinsel, the artificial island at the centre of the city. The nod to scales as playing notes through hands and an instrument, initiates the scaling of the river using the wall, my hands and a measuring tape. The poetry unfolding here skims the surface in its self-referentiality (to other scenes, talking about movies in a video work) and stacks time and space, which also oscillates feelings of loneliness and comradery.
