Ellen Monague

Ellen Monague is an Ojibway from Beausoleil First Nation, Ontario. She began her career as an actor in the early 1990's for a show titled By Way of the Stars, a CBC production. She has since been cast in such shows as Due South, Canada - A People's History and the acclaimed film by Pamela Matthews, Only the Devil Speaks Cree, as well as commercials, print ads, student/independent films and theatre productions.

In the summer of 1998, Ellen participated in a film workshop titled
Grass is Greener with other actors, directors, and writers and was involved in front of the camera as well as behind the scene production. This workshop inspired Ellen to pursue writing and production endeavors.

In 2004, Ellen completed a five-minute mini documentary within a music video titled
Beausoleil (Beautiful Sun) and is currently producing a documentary Causeway to Chimnissing which reveals the unique history of Beausoleil First Nation (Christian Island, Ontario).

When Ellen isn't running to an audition or isn't working as a filmmaker, you can fins her at Aboriginal Legal Services of Toronto working as an advocate for the Aboriginals of Toronto and surrounding areas.
