Lesley Johnson, Producer
Lesley Johnson is a filmmaker based in Yellowknife, currently doing an MFA in Film Production at York University. She as a background in wildlife and environmental studies, and worked as a researcher for communities and the government.
Lesley most recently worked as a producer on the APTN television series "Dene A Journey," shot in communities and remote locations across the NWT. Some of her past experiences have included working on the film adaptation of Richard Van Camp’s novel, "The Lesser Blessed" and co-producing BHP Billiton’s "Ekati Trail Series." She is currently working on a documentary about moose-hide tanning.
Lesley is an active member of the NWT Professional Media Association, Western Arctic Moving Pictures, Women in Film and Television, Cinema Politica, the Documentary Organization of Canada, and was the Director of the Yellowknife International Film Festival for several years.
