Chris Hsiung

Chris Hsiung is an engineer turned documentary filmmaker. He runs Hidden Story Productions, an organization dedicated to using documentary storytelling to nurture a more compassionate, just, and intelligent society. 

Chris was selected to be an Artist-in-Residence as part of the Calgary 2012 Cultural Capital selection. He produced a documentary short called The Spirit of Sport about what six different amateur athletes have learned from their sport. He also directed a participative documentary short called Flood of Change about a group of Nepalese youth who are fighting for better water and sanitation. The film was selected for the Global Justice Film Festival.

Chris has also spent time holding video workshops for youth in schools, non-profit organizations and aboriginal reserves. His time spent on reserves ultimately led him produce and direct his first feature-length documentary Elder in the Making, a film that World Premiered at the Calgary International Film Festival.

Chris is the Technical Director for REDx Talks, a platform for sharing knowledge. Chris also sits on the board of the Human Venture Leadership program, a research organization studying the successes and failure of humanity.
