Rojina Farrokhnejad
Rojina Farrokhnejad (RJ) is an interdisciplinary artist that lives and works in Vancouver, BC. Originally from Iran, she came to the city in the early 2000s and quickly connected with the LGBT community and found like-minded people, now proudly calling Vancouver home. RJ is renowned for her evocative images of memories and metamorphosis, expressions of solitude, and moments of importance that connect with the audience’s experiences. Rojina’s works have been exhibited at grunt gallery, Gallery Gachet, the Cultch, the SUM Gallery in Vancouver and Addition Vancouver. She has also produced/directed several film pieces and was featured at a film festival at UBC. RJ is recognized for her experimental and sometimes controversial subject matter in film, she holds a BFA from Emily Carr University and is a recipient of the DTES Small Arts Grant. She has also been nominated for The Lind Prize for one of her most successful solo’s, Gods and Monsters, at SUM gallery. Rojina continues to craft her trade as an Artist and is always asking the important question, “What’s Next ?"
