Mustafa Al-Taiar

Mustafa Al-Taiar is a technical expert with a PhD in Computer Science, and MBA at Carleton University. He lived, studied, and worked across four continents: Europe, Africa, Asia, and America.
Over the years, He has worked with several multinational companies and earned multiple diplomas and certifications, including Computer Engineering, a Master of Science in Computers, PhD in Computer Sciences, Leadership certifications, Master of Business Administration and even studied Law at Sorbonne Paris II University. He has also founded various startups and businesses in the education sector and other fields. He worked as a professor for more than 13 years in different universities and colleges around the globe.
But beyond academics and professional life, what defines him most is volunteering. For more than 20 years, he has dedicated time and effort to initiatives helping those in need—supporting poor families, creating educational opportunities, organizing blood donations in Africa, provide clean drinking water in Africa and Asia, and offering aid in disaster and war zones worldwide.
With good experience in filming and editing, he has worked with well-known names in Canada to create documentary films that give a voice to people living in conflict areas and shed light on war crimes and atrocities that the world needed to see—to help stop them from happening again.
While his experience in filmmaking is relatively recent, his strong technical background has significantly contributed to his creative pursuits. Mustafa's journey into filmmaking began with Lights of Hope, a compelling documentary that captured the efforts of Canadians advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Currently, Mustafa is working on two major projects. The first explores the vibrant activism in Peterborough, Ontario, highlighting local efforts to promote justice and peace in Palestine. The second film explores the moral conflicts faced by Jewish Canadians as they grapple with their identity and values in light of Israel's actions in Palestine. Through deeply personal narratives and community activism, it highlights their resilience in advocating for justice despite backlash and challenges. The documentary ultimately asks profound questions about identity, loyalty, and the meaning of standing for justice.
Mustafa brings a unique perspective to his films, blending technical expertise with a deep commitment to social justice. His work aims to amplify marginalized voices and inspire meaningful action.
