Jane Walker

N. Jane Walker has worked in film and television for over 25 years, has a BA in Cinema Studies and History (1992) from the University of Toronto, and an MFA in Film Production (2008) from York University.
From 1998 through 2003 Jane produced and directed several films which have been seen across Canada and internationally. Spinsters (2001), a documentary about female DJs, won Best Music Documentary at the New York Independent Film Festival and has screened across Canada and the United States, the UK and Switzerland. In 2002 Spinsters was purchased for broadcast by the cable channel bmp:tv. The short comedy, Good Monday, which she co-produced in 1999, was nominated for two Canadian Comedy Awards. Yes, We do Windows, is a profile of artist Kenneth Tolmie that aired on CBC’s ZedTV in 2002, and 2-11 (2003), an experimental art documentary shot in Chicago, was seen in Canada and Germany. In 2007, Jane’s Master’s thesis film, Hundred Year Art Walk, was awarded the Cinespace Studios Film and Video Production Award.
A professional continuity/script supervisor since 1996, Jane spent nine years on the CBC series The Murdoch Mysteries. Other recent credits include the hit comedy series Schitt’s Creek, Mistletoe Murders, and the Global Television mini-series Departure. Jane lives in Toronto.
