Heather Keung
Heather Keung graduated from OCAD University with honours. Exploring themes of memory, technology and architecture, she works with multiple approaches and forms. Her recent series of performances for the video camera examine how physical experiences of laborious actions are translated through the lens and duration of time. Her work has been showcased in curated programs around the world, including SFIAAFF (The Secret Lives Of Urban Space, curated by Chi-Hui Yang, San Francisco), Transmedial (Definitely Independent, curated by Nicole Gingras, Berlin), and Ludwig Museum - Museum of Contemporary Art (ACHTUNG BABY! Curated by Johanna Householder and Nina Czegledy, Budapest, Hungary). She recently participated in Paul Wong's 5 Projects as part of the Mapping and Marking Commission by the city of Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Public Art. She has been an active contributor to the arts community in Toronto for over ten years and is currently the Artistic Director at the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival. Her work as both an artist and curator has a strong focus on gender, asian diaspora and experimental media art, and has led her to present programs on Patty Chang, Cao Fei, Oliver Husain, Ming Wong, and Jin-Me Yoon.
