The article explores the changing structure of the festival just one year following its launch in 1997. Demonstrating how urban geography shapes that structure, specifically in reference to a series of events, titled Po-Po Into the Wasteland, which used abandoned and derilect buildings as sites for 'Field Trips' where audiences are guided on exploration. Of note are quotes by curators Shannon Cochrane and Jubal Brown about the possibilities of performance art and the role that the performance artist might play in the future.
