The New York Video Festival has entered its third year. Despite having to compete with the more popular New York Film Festival, the video exhibition is gaining momentum. Their success lies in the excellent submissions including Shelly Silver's video, Former East. Former West, which focuses on identity in Berlin after WWII. This article focuses on the struggles that video has with competing with the more popular film genre.
