Palestinian film defies media norms at truth's expenses
Jewish Bulletin, San Francisco CA, Sept. 29, 1990
This video review looks at a piece by Palestinian filmmaker Elia Suleiman and Lebanese-Canadian filmmaker Jayce Salloum entitled Intifada. The writer speaks highly upon the efforts of the filmmakers to expose Arab stereotypes and suggests Palestinians as the possible underdog trying to fight invading Jews - a piece that challenges and questions assumptions. However, she states that to those well-versed in Middle Eastern issues, the video's biased educational graphics and historical references are obvious - to those less knowledgeable, they may not be.
