A review of X Change, a seven hour multimedia performance art marathon, which grapples with the issues explored in post-modern performance art: the alienation of the art world from the social sphere and the former's subsequent mystification; the alienation of the performer from the audience and the audience from the performer; the alienation of the artist from her or his materials of creation; the alienation of the process of art production from the final product and the alienation of the art object's aesthetic or emotive value from its price on the market.
