Monk discusses Legal Memory, its background story (the hanging of Leo Mantha and the suspected gay purge of the RCMP) and Steele and Tomczak's making of the film.
Steele and Tomczak weren't interested in making a documentary, but created a drama exposing the Dark Age of gay rights and its historical context compared to present-day life.
