Video channeling: video art from modernist sculptor Keith Sonnier
In this article, author Linda Yablonsky reviews the work of artist Keith Sonnier. Sonnier's work provides an early prototype (1970s) for networked communcations and broadcast transmission. His work Channel Mix pioneered the use of large-screen video projectors and Send/Receive (1979) uses a NASA communications satellite to broadcast a critique of government efforts to control public access to information.
