Rodney Graham
Bomb, Fall 2004, no. 89, pp. 22-29
More of a conversation between Kim Gordon (of Sonic Youth) and Rodney Graham about music and art, and particularly the way Graham uses sound in his work. It discusses pieces like How I Became a Ramblin' Man, which is a film that music plays a central role in, but which is more than a music video, and Phonokinetoscope, where the image and sound aren't necessarily in sync but still work together. The conversation mostly involved Gordon probing Graham's interest in sound and music in various ways. His new piece, Rheinmetall/Victoria, is also discussed.
