Ship of dreams gets rude reception

This review takes the reader through the plot and imagery of Ali Kazimi's film "Continuous Journey". Kazimi's film focusses on the government sponsored action in 1914 which rejected the Komagata Maru upon ints arrival to the Vancouver harbour, leaving 376 immigrants detained on board for more than two months. The policies and blataent racism of that time is explored and are placed with in the context of historians from both Canada and India. Kazimi is has made six films in the past deacde and this film is indicative of his experience as a story-teller and image-maker.
