Andy Warhol's early video piece Sleep depicts the ordinary. Since that time video art has evolved while still holding on to it's early roots. The article discusses how video art and writing can give the viewer the semblence of reality, or real time - the author explores the experience of several video works that play with the viewers suspension of disbelief with regards to the real time of the video.
