Intimate Dwelling: Finding Our Way Home: Do you feel you belong, do you feel at home?
Home Show, Sept. 12 Summer, 2002, pp. 19- 27
Brydon discusses an experiment she conducted by giving her class two series of questions as quizzes, one about "global culture" issues and the other about "bioregionalism". In doing this she examines how the media saturates people's lives and alienates them from being connected to the locale they inhabit. She asks: how do we define "home"? Do we belong? These questions are at the center of works in Home Show.
Brydon goes on to explore how the idea of "home" has been interpreted in cultural theory and by the artists in the exhibition.
