Between the Lines, Jude Norris, 2006, pp. 1-2
Toronto: Trinity Square Video and imagineNATIVE Festival, 2006
This is a short catalogue programme for the Jude Norris show entitled "Between the Lines" shown at Trinity Square Video, September 28 - October 26, 2006. Jude Norris is a multi-disciplinary Cree-Metis artist who uses 'Native' material with elements of the Western world to explore the challenges of the contemporary colonized reality. The works discussed in this programme use iconic animals, such as the bear and the eagle, and the tradition of language to represent the colonization of the First Nations. Her work asks us not only to read between the lines but also to blur those lines.
