Rafael Lozano-Hemmer interview by Priamo Lozada
RISK/RIESGO, 2003, pp. 18-21
New York city: The Standby Program, Inc, 2003
Interviewed by Priamo Lozada, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer talks about his work as interventions in public space, as a platform or vehicle participants can use however they like, as group experiences instead of creation of collectable items.
The anti- monument for him is an alternative to the fetish of the site, the fetish of the representation of power.
He tries to overcome myths of technological correctness and claims that it is impossible not to use technology anyway- being part of contemporary identity and having evolved through constantly changing social, economic, physical, and political forces.
